DE’s preventative security process keeps students’ computers headache free across Maine

Schools understand the value in prevention. I’m sure you recall fire drills and (depending where you grew up) drills for tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes. Equally important, they want to make sure their students are learning in a productive environment—where technology works and where teachers can leverage it to create prepared and enabled students to meet modern job market demands.

One fundamental way schools prevent errors and problems is by having technology that not only is easy to use, but that is error-free. They make sure students are focused on learning and not stuck riddled with errors and computer problems. (I’m sure we all can relate to this dilemma!)

Dynamic Edge prevents errors for over 600 Maine students. This week I took a short stop over to some Maine schools to see what a difference process, planning and implementation takes in establishing the right environment for students to be successful.

Every Maine student gets a laptop each school year to get work done—schoolwork, homework—basically everything is and can be done on their school-issued laptops. Maine realized that to create productive 21st Century-focused curriculum, their students need to understand and use computers throughout their school curriculum to be prepared for competitive international job market and college demands after graduation.

How teachers in Maine now leverage technology:

  • Student-Centered Learning Approach— Our technology helps teachers identify how to specifically meet each student’s educational needs.
  • Professional Development Delivery Options—Teachers learn to utilize technology to best communicate lessons.
  • Professional Learning Communities—Our technology has opened collaborative channels for teachers across the state to improve their lesson planning.

But also to give students access to technology and give them all the opportunities to gain important skills for the workplace:

  • Enabling Anytime, Anywhere Learning—students get connected at school, home or on the go to work whenever (kind of like how our clients work!).
  • Provides Robust Software Suite Including Office 365—students get to learn industry standard software to prepare themselves for the workforce (after graduating high school or college)
  • Innovative Cloud-Based Desktop—secure, accessible imaged machines to make laptops consistent and worry-free.

Just like Maine schools, our customers in Michigan and Tennessee benefit from our focus on business-centric, process-driven support that eliminates computer headaches before disasters become reality.
