 The name Jim Steinberger is synonymous with “dedication.” While attending the University of Michigan, Jim once found himself literally living at the Media Union for over a week to finish a group project. Unsurprisingly, Jim received his degree in Computer Science with Honors in 2002. His dedication continues unabated here at the Edge, where you can generally find him working through the night on high-priority projects or fielding any questions concerning copyediting or grammar. Jim’s myriad talents also encompass Java, C++, database design and analytical thinking.

As a prodigy, this mild mannered code monkey is more than he appears. By day, this diligent employee tutors athletes and enjoys saving kittens. By night, he fights crime. Yes, Jim is the new DE Clark Kent, wresting the title from Justin Rogers, who has shirked his heroic duties of late. Jim hasn’t yet settled on a superhero moniker—heartbroken as he was to learn that “Batman” was taken—but currently answers to Super-Jim.
