In point of fact, the made-up social disorder Adorexia that afflicts the protagonist of “Lucky Number Slevin” was inspired by Jason’s inability to feel anxiety—even under the worst of circumstances. Tales of his strange behavior are legion. The movie’s writer, Jason Smilovic, once called Jason and asked, “How do you do it?” To which he replied, “I got tired of worrying–so I stopped.” Thus was the seed planted that would one day become “Lucky Number Slevin.”
