James Ratzlaff
programmer
At a you age James had a passion for technology. This passion was encouraged by James’ parents by not killing him when he permanently turned his first CD-ROM drive into a weak laser pointer… CD-ROM drives were expensive in the early 90′s. James’ first programming language was BASIC in which he wrote various applications ranging from sound recording to SNES and NES ROM sprite editing. While working toward a Computer Science degree at Eastern Michigan Univeristy (with co-dynedger Andy Smith) James worked as a programmer at EMU and for an e-commerce company based out of San Diego. Outside of the computer science realm James has also taught mathematics and music at schools in the Ypsilanti area.
on the lighter side…
Have you ever been to the club or turned on the radio and thought, “This is my jam!”?. Chances are your “jam” was written by James. James has been writing and performing music since he was an embryo. At the tender age of 25 he beat Slash and Buckethead in a shred-off playing a guitar that only had one string–made out of yarn. He also hung out with the likes of Eddie and Charlie Murphy in the 80′s. He no longer hangs out with them. In fact James has no friends because he is a habitual line stepper :-( . Aside from that, a few of James’ chart toppers you may have heard/made children to include “The Hokey Pokey”, “The Gumby Opening Theme Song”, “Notorious Thugs”, and “It’s Raining Men”.
