It is said that art imitates life. With Gordon, this certainly holds true. His resemblance to one of the X-men is no coincidence. Gordon feels most at home in sub-zero weather and can often be seen swimming in icy lakes or skiing in nothing but his DE shirt and a pair of Hawaiian shorts. Over the years, his affinity for all-things-freezing lead not only to minor celebrity, but also to an opportunity to model for Iceman in the original X-men comics—owing largely to the fact that no one else willing to stand naked in the snow could be found.
